The following specialized programs and services are available to you and your family:
• Specialized parenting education programs for families in recovery
parenting education programs for DCFS involved families
• School-based parenting programs for pregnant and parenting
The Nurturing Parenting Program is an evidence based curriculum that strengthens parent support and skills in the following five

3. Alternatives to Corporal Punishment
5. Power and Independence
The program also strengthens six protective factors that have been identified
as being crucial in the prevention and treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect:
1. Parental Resilience
3. Knowledge of Parenting and Child Development
4. Concrete Support in Time of Need
Emotional Competence of Children
6. Healthy Parent Child Relationships
