Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) takes advantage of medication in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies to provide
a “whole patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. Research indicates that a combination of medication and behavioral
therapies can successfully treat substance use disorders, and for some people struggling with addiction, MAT can help sustain recovery.
Suboxone
is a new, effective and safe medication which can reduce cravings and lessen symptoms related to withdrawal from opiate-based drugs.
It is not, however, a simple cure for a complex challenge.
Breaking Free’s new MAT services recognize that only full-fledged treatment can provide lasting recovery. Under the supervision of Dr. David Miller, M.D., Breaking Free can now offer Suboxone treatment in conjunction with supportive group, individual and family treatment services to assist patients struggling with opiate dependence.
MAT
is not for everyone, so Breaking Free assesses each individual according to their needs, challenges, and level of commitment to intensive,
comprehensive treatment.
